I think that grumpiness is just standard operating procedure while changing your diet. At least, I hope so cause I am a total mess! Totally irritable and annoying. I know it goes away, but man oh man. blech!
When I get grumpy I am letting myself eat something rather than nothing at all. I'll grab an apple or some cucumber or something else better than those stinkin' hershey kisses sitting in my cuboard (that's a whole 'nother post, for another day)

The good news!!

Weight loss: 8 pounds!!
Activity: Walking whenever I can. I also stood and went on my "toes" for 20 minutes during a basketball game. I looked like a dork going up and down, but at least I did something.


  1. What a great idea! For three weeks I spent 3 hours in a chair at basketball. I don't know why I didn't think of standing and doing toe lifts. Next week I will join you in dorkiness. Maybe we will do "the wave" just so we have an excuse to do some squats.

  4. Way to go on the 8 pounds! Make sure you don't start to associate grumpiness with healthy snacks. Otherwise, you may not want to eat them when you're happy. :)

  6. 8 pounds! That is so amazing. I agree, I am grumpy when dieting too, but seeing that number move on the scale, always pushes me forward. Going to be at 8 helps me not be grumpy AND not eat stuff I shouldn't.
